Begin your tour of Macau with some of the city’s most famous landmarks, including Cotai Strip, Coloane Island Center and Lord Stow’s Bakery for a Portuguese egg-custard tart. Marvel at one of the oldest Taoist temples in the city, A-Ma, along with stops at Senado Square and the 17th-century Ruins of St. Paul’s cathedral, once the largest Catholic church in East Asia. Meander through Mount Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The top tier of the fortress features a garden from which one can see out over the beautiful landscape of the peninsula. End your sightseeing day with a special themed dinner that includes wine pairings and a performance.
In your leisure time, enjoy your stay at the newly opened Legend Palace Hotel on the Fisherman’s Wharf, with its alluring views of the Pearl River by day and the illuminated cityscape at night. Or, consider visiting additional nearby sites — such as St. Augustine’s Church, St. Lawrence’s Church and St. Joseph’s Church. In the evening of Day 3, you can make your way to the Sands Cotai Theatre at Sands Cotai Central to take in the "Monkey King – China Show," which is based on an enduring story from Chinese folklore.
What we love:
• UNESCO lauds the Ruins of St. Paul’s as part of the Historic Centre of Macau World Heritage site.
• As a former Portuguese colony, Macau’s most famous dish is, not surprisingly, the Portuguese egg tart, a flaky pastry shell with a rich, sweet egg custard akin to creme brulee.
• Macau is the only city in China where gambling is allowed — it’s known locally and abroad as the “Las Vegas of Asia.”
